Sweetness

The other day when Jack woke up from his nap we were snuggling in the bed. He said, "You so nice. You give me kisses and hold me." It was so precious. It makes up for those moments when he's a real stinker.

He is also officially swimming all over the pool by himself with help from his floaties. He doesn't even need us near him. He's growing up so much right now. (34 months old)

He's learning so many words and things right now. He called Scooby Doo "Scary Doo Be Doo."

Sting Rays and Popcorn

Since Sea World is our regular spot, Jack has been most intrigued with sting rays of all the different animals there. He likes to go look at them in the observation pool, and when Jeremy touches one, he says he touched it. (For my own documentation purposes, we moved to Schertz on March 17, 2012.)

So, he got a stuffed sting ray last weekend, and he likes to eat popcorn (even Orville Redenbacher at home) from his Sea World popcorn pail, which they refill for $1.79. Sweet! :)

In funny news, Jeremy said the phrase, "That's a humdinger," to Jack. Now Jack keeps talking about a humdinger. He talks about "red dingers, blue dingers, pink dingers, green dingers" even though he has no idea what he's talking about. Jeremy asked him if he knew what a humdinger was. He said, "It's at the gas pump." LOL

Also, Jack has a good grasp on manners and saying "please, thank you, excuse me, and you're welcome." He's a very appreciative boy when he gets something and repeatedly tells me how much he loves it. He just told me "I love my mah-bles," (marbles), which I bought him a few weeks ago.

Oh, and the biggest life news--he is pottying in the big potty in public restrooms. Last week in What-A-Burger, he said, "I gotta go home right now, Momma. I gotta go home!" while grabbing his crotch. I told him they have a potty here and rushed him to the toilet. He said, "I did not know that! I did not know!" ...Pretty funny. And most importantly, he is not waking up and drinking a chocolate milk baba because I'm done being a pushover. I would like him to retain as many teeth as possible until the appropriate time for them to fall out.

I'm Back... a couple years later.

Well, to say it's been a while since I've updated this blog would be an understatement. But with all the funny things Jack says these days at 33 months (almost three years old and I can't believe it), I figured I better start writing it all down. I certainly don't want to forget. I loved reading all these previous posts just now--I don't even remember when half of those things happened, so it's fun to remember and look at the pictures.
In the past few months, Jack has said some real doozies. From watching me shave my legs and asking, "Is that a rake?" to telling me the story of the Big Bad Wolf yesterday... "He blew them away. He shot a squirrel and deer with a bow and arrow. He went to the boat show. There's nice boats."
As I run across notes I've jotted down over funny things he says or new experiences, I will add them to the blog. My plan is to print it into a little book he can have to look at and read later on.

So Many Milestones - 9 months

I haven't blogged in a while, but I'm not giving up. I have just been a little busy with Jack getting so mobile. Last week, he learned to wave. This week he has accomplished walking by himself with the help of his push-walker, clapping and saying bye bye (which sounds a lot like baa baa), but he says it on cue when I tell him to, so I know he knows what he's saying. He is 9 months as of last week, and he's hit so many milestones in the past few days it's hard to believe.
I am already starting on his birthday festivities and that's the hardest part to believe of all. I can't believe my baby is almost a year old.

Stand up!

Yesterday, March 10, Jack had a big day for milestones... He stood up in his crib all by himself and learned to give big, open-mouthed kisses!!!

I was folding laundry in his room while he was sitting in his crib playing. He was babbling so I looked up to talk to him and he was standing, holding onto the side.

Then, later in the day I was giving him kisses and he started giving them back, the big, open mouth version that all babies start off with. It was so precious I almost cried. :)

He's been so clingy, cranky and not himself. I thought it was just the teething, but I have a feeling it was probably all the new things he's learned this week combined with teething. Being a baby can be tough!

Oh, MAMA!

Jack just started saying Mama on Monday. He's made a mama sound before but it was just once here or there on accident. This week he has said it over and over and especially when he is reaching for me. He's even thrown in a dada and baba sound a couple of times, which he has never done before. He is growing up so fast now.... Kinda sad, but really exciting.

Captain Jack

Jack loved the boat show last weekend. He especially loved grabbing the steering wheels on the nicer boats. We went Thursday and Saturday. Thursday he rode in the carrier most of the day and didn't make a peep; he was totally content, just looking around.
